Overview
terrace view of hotel

Nestled on a quiet side street near the Beaux Arts in the heart of the Left Bank, the historic L’Hotel is arguably the oldest boutique hotel in Paris and its smallest 5 star hotel. It was the last home of Oscar Wilde and has played host to many celebrities over the past two centuries including the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, and Jim Morrison. It stars amidst the cultural riches, bohemian soul, and high fashion of St Germain-des-Prés and is ideally situated to experience the art and culture of Paris. With interiors designed by the inimitable Jacques Garcia, the hotel features jewel-toned fabrics, dim lighting, and velvet couches set under a central domed ceiling and with original works of art. The 20 bedrooms are individually decorated in a range of styles and are all unique and luxurious, finished with exquisite materials in painstaking detail. The hotel features a Michelin star restaurant (since 2006), a cosy bar where one can experience the spirit of St Germain-des-Prés, a hammam pool and steam room and is one of the best luxury wedding and events venues in Paris. This is old-fashioned glamour at its best.

Location

Pont Neuf Metro Station is a 10-minute walk away, providing access to the Opéra Garnier. Paris Charles de Gaulle airport is 34 kms and about 40 minutes away from the hotel.

Rooms

An iconic spiral staircase leads to six floors of 20 individually designed luxury bedrooms and suites, each a sanctuary featuring lavish fabrics, original works of art, and indulgent bathrooms featuring elaborately patterned marble floors and lavish wood panelling around luxurious enclosed bathtubs.  Each room is equipped with a mini bar and an iPod docking station.

  • Mignon

Opulent yet inviting, our six Mignon rooms carry trademark Garcia design features. Looking out over Rue de Beaux Arts, these 17 sq. m. rooms are opulent and inviting. From Japanese-inspired bamboo to decadent leopard print wall coverings, each follow a distinctive theme.

  • Bijoux

Elegant details and courtyard views combine to create a beautiful Paris experience. These 18 sq. m. rooms look out over the quiet courtyard and are all individually and dramatically designed. Baroque and Indo Chinese are but a few of the striking decorative themes found in these perfectly formed, bijoux bedrooms.

  • Grand

The 3 junior suites are 30 sq. m. and overlook Rue de Beaux Arts. These Grand suites are decoratively inspired by the Eastern voyages of the famed novelist and naval officer, Pierre Loti, Saint Petersburg during the 19th-century Russia or Belle Époque style.

  • Chic

The 35 sq. m. Chic rooms are all decorated in honor of famous historic characters: Marco Polo, Mistinguett, Mata Hari, and Reine Hortense. The rooms are as spacious as they are individual with a sitting area and large bathrooms with separate baths and walk-in showers.

  • Oscar Wilde Suite

The 35 sq. m. room is decorated after L’ Hotel’s most well-known resident, Oscar Wilde, who was staying here when he died in 1900. Spacious as it is unique, the room features a large private terrace and bathroom with a separate bath and walk-in shower.

  • L’ Apartment

Named after Louis-Antoine, Cardinal of Noailles, and the largest suite at 45 sq. m. has a terrace overlooking the city’s rooftops and the bell tower of Saint Germain-des Prés. The décor is inspired by the Cardinal’s robe with heavy red velvet drapes and silk fabric covering the walls.
