The sophisticated Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is set seep within the Okovango Delta on a scenic island. The lodge is a contemporary, elegant retreat and offers classic luxury in the Botswana wetlands. Bright, high-ceilinged tented rooms feature plunge pools and large beds with stunning views of the Delta. It is also one of the finest sites for photographic safaris in the Delta with an emphasis on a slower safari, with time to enjoy and appreciate the peace and tranquillity of the Okavango. Immerse yourself in the wildlife of this UNESCO World Heritage Site—quietly float by hippos in a traditional canoe while fish eagles fly above. Guest areas feature a restaurant with an open kitchen, with inside and outside dining, a bar and lounge area, and a library. 

Location

Eagle Island Lodge is a 20-minute flight from Maun airport (the gateway to the Okavango Delta) and a 90-minute flight from Johannesburg and 2 hours from Cape Town. The camp is 20 minutes from Maun airport

Rooms

Each of the lodge’s 12 airy and spacious, deluxe tented rooms has its own plunge pool, a large outdoor deck overlooking the expansive delta, deep day beds, and personal bars. Tented rooms feature a walled outdoor shower with a window looking onto the delta, a large indoor bathtub and walk-in wardrobe.

    The 12 deluxe tented rooms have high ceilings, over-sized beds with views of the wetlands, private plunge pools, reading nooks, and both indoor and outdoor showers. The rooms are flooded with light, offer total privacy and have wonderful views of the Delta. The décor is a unique blend of striking and modern with the distinctive aspects of a traditional safari camp
