Overview

The Glenburn Penthouse is a sophisticated nine bedroom boutique all-suite hotel in the midst of bustling Kolkata. It is a short walk from Victoria Memorial, the vibrant Maidan, and Park Street - a local hub for restaurants and bars.  Spread over 4 floors, the hotel features an exquisite collection of colonial-era furniture from Bengal and artwork of rural India.  The Tea Verandah is a perfect place for breakfast or their well-known special afternoon tea and its unrestricted views of Victoria Memorial. The hotel also has a beautifully designed dining room and lounge, an elegant library which can also be used for small get-togethers, a small gym and the pièce de resistance, its beautiful rooftop infinity pool and its vantage city views
Location

The Glenburn Penthouse is located in the heart of the historic Kolkata, located on just off  Chowringhee Road and a 5 minute walk to Park Street. It is located 50 minutes from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.

Rooms

Each of the 9 individually decorated suites at the Glenburn Penthouse have a colonial theme with large four poster antique carved beds and antique furnishings. The fabrics are bold and sleek, (comma) beautifully blending in with the old world theme giving it a soft and elegant ambience. The rooms all feature elegant desks and the bathrooms are beautiful with marble flooring, rainforest showers and bathtubs to enjoy. There are 2 categories of suites: 4 Royal Bengal suites and 5 Calcutta Suites

  • Victoria Suite: 

    The Victoria suite features a king size bed and offers direct views of Victoria Memorial and the Calcutta Maidan. It includes an extra room at the entrance, an oversized bathtub and shower area.

  • Maidan Suite:

    The Maidan suite includes a king size bed, direct views of Victoria Memorial, and a private balcony overlooking the Calcutta Maidan.

  • Park Suite: 

    The Park suite offers a private sitting area with a chaise lounge that doubles as a third bed, along with a private veranda and terrace. The spacious bathroom has two sinks and a large bathtub. There's also an interconnecting door from the terrace to the Chowringhee Suite.

  • Chowringhee Suite: 

    The Chowringhee suite also has a private sitting area with a chaise lounge as a third bed, plus a private veranda and terrace. The spacious bathroom has two sinks and a large bathtub. Additionally, there's an interconnecting door from the terrace to the Park Suite.

  • Eden Suite:

    The Eden suite features a king size bed, a chaise lounge that can be used as an extra bed, views of the Calcutta Maidan, and indirect views of the Victoria Memorial.

  • Russell Suite: 

    The Russell Suite offers a king size bed, city views, and a private balcony.

  • Loreto Suite: 

    The Loreto suite is equipped with twin beds and provides a view towards Loreto Convent, Park Street, and the city. The twin beds are four-poster king single sizes (approximately four feet wide).

  • Middleton Suite: 

    This suite has a king size bed and partial view of the city.

  • Hoogly Suite: 

    The Hoogly suite offers twin beds and a view towards the Calcutta Racecourse and a corner of Victoria Memorial. The twin beds are four-poster king single sizes.
