Sir Richard's splendid retreat, Kasbah Tamadot, is perched dramatically on a hilltop and surrounded by the peaks of the High Atlas mountains. The hotel sits at an elevation of 1,320m above sea level and overlooks a valley whose river ebbs and flows with the seasons. On a clear day you can see Mount Toubkal, the Atlas' highest peak. A magical walled complex near Asni, in the High Atlas, Kasbah Tamadot is all peaceful courtyards, intriguing staircases, landscaped gardens and breathtaking views. This magical hotel boasts 27 stunning bedrooms and suites. Ninety percent of the staff are from the local Berber villages and add to the feeling of staying in a private home. The extensive gardens are carefully landscaped with rose, fruit and cactus plants. Whether you choose to stay in the heart of the retreat, or follow the paths through the herb gardens to the luxury Berber Tented Suites, you will be delighted to discover traditional Moroccan furnishings and antiques as well as rare artifacts from all over the world adorning the walls.

Location

Kasbah Tamadot  is a one-hour drive from Marrakech, while Marrakech airport is only 45 minutes away by car. Road and helicopter transfers are available on request.

Rooms

Kasbah Tamadot has 27 bedrooms and suites including nine luxury Berber Tents, some of which have private plunge pools. All are individually decorated using traditional Moroccan furnishings and antiques, as well as items from the vast collection of Luciano Tempo, Kasbah Tamadot's former owner. Each room has a uniquely descriptive Berber name which tells you something about it.

    These rooms have a double bed, traditional Moroccan furnishings in gem-bright colours and antiques from the former owner's extensive collection.

  • Deluxe rooms

    These rooms have double beds, bathrobes and CD players, and are decorated with traditional Moroccan furnishings and antiques. TVs and DVD players are available on request.

  • Superior suite

    These rooms have double beds, bathrobes and CD players, and are decorated with traditional Moroccan furnishings and antiques. TVs and DVD players are available on request.

  • Deluxe suites

    The Deluxe Suites come with a balcony or terrace overlooking the Atlas Mountains. Decor is bright, colourful and Moroccan-inspired, with antiques from the former owner's collection decorating the rooms.

  • Master Suite

    This suite has a spacious terrace with a private pool, a big bedroom, separate lounge and hallway. Antiques and brightly coloured Moroccan furnishings decorate the rooms, and there are dramatic views of the Atlas Mountains

  • Berber Tent with Private Jacuzzi

    These luxurious 10 Berber Tents are set high on the hillside, overlooking the Atlas Mountains and the valley below. Five of the tents are located just a short stroll from the herb and vegetable garden; all have views of Mount Toubkal, the Atlas' highest peak. Each of the nine luxurious Berber Tents comes complete with its own private deck offering fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains, king-size bed, large bathtub for soaking and five feature a private Jacuzzi. The luxurious tents are decorated in sympathy with the main building, with Moroccan-inspired furnishings.

  • 2BR Superior suite

    This two-bed Superior Suite is perfect for families. It's a spacious suite with an open sitting area and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom adjoins to the main seating area. It also has its own private terrace.
