The Six Senses Douro Valley is located in the world’s oldest demarcated wine region in the stunning Douro Valley. It is a beautifully renovated 19th-century manor house overlooking the terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley and the majestic river Douro running below. From the wine library to the restaurants, from the extensive wine cellar to the detox programs at the spa, the hotel fully embraces an immersive experience. The 10 room Spa is a destination unto itself. From the dreamily-designed and furnished rooms and suites to the expansive spa, fine and wholesome dining, organic gardens and nature trails, this is where well-being meets pure joy. Winery visits, wine tasting and local dining are offered throughout the year.

Location

The Six Senses Douro Valley is a 75-minute scenic drive from Oporto airport and a 4-hour drive from the capital Lisbon.

Rooms

The 60 guest accommodations including bedrooms with panoramic valley views, spacious suites and villas (two of them with plunge pools) feature cutting-edge interiors with floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and wooden bridges leading to secret gardens. Contemporary décor blends with natural materials and authentic Portuguese design.

  • Quinta Superior:

    Featuring a contemporary décor wedded to the Six Senses natural style and a nod to a past era, complete with modern conveniences plus lovely vineyard views. These generously-sized rooms have a very modern yet cosy atmosphere with a spacious seating area and bathroom. They offer views of the pebbled terrace, vineyards or courtyard. Several of the vineyard-facing rooms also have a terrace with seating.

  • Quinta Deluxe:

    These oversized units are located in the new wing and include a comfortable reading and sitting area and a spacious bathroom. Some of the rooms face the valley and others have a large floor-to-ceiling window with views over the wonderful woodland or vineyard. They all have easy access to an elevator. Rooms with terraces have steps to the outside with a small seating area.

  • Vineyard Deluxe:

    Located on the exclusive vineyard wing, these rooms have a spacious living room area, a bed as big as a ship and enjoy precious privacy. Vineyard Deluxe rooms on the fourth floor have a spacious outside terrace with a large seating space and dining area. Vineyard Deluxe rooms on the fifth floor offer views across the vineyard. Quinta River: Generously sized and contemporary in style, elegant and comfortable, with privileged panoramic views over the Douro River. They present a different layout that includes a reading and seating area plus a very spacious bathroom. Some rooms have a private balcony or terrace.

  • Vineyard Premier:

    Our premier rooms are located in the vineyard wing on the fourth floor, and include a comfortable reading and sitting area and a spacious bathroom. With an oversized Ottoman sofa inside and a large number of comfortable sofas outside on the deck, we hope you have brought a good book or two. There is also a dining area with table for private dinners where the only company is the incredible view.

  • Quinta Suite:

    These suites offer different layouts to create different experiences. No two are exactly the same: one offers a private balcony and another panoramic river view. They all, however, enable you to spread out in comfortable and spacious living rooms and bedrooms with wooden floors and view out o the vineyard or the river view. Quinta Duplex Suite: Perfect for a romantic weekend for two, these spectacular two-level suites are located in the hotel's tower with the living room on the first-floor and a king bedroom on the second-floor. The Quinta Duplex Suites offer a unique layout to create an exclusive experience. The suites have comfortable and spacious living rooms and bedrooms. Both the suites offer courtyard and vineyard views.

  • Quinta Panorama Suite:

    You don't have to look hard to see the hero feature of this suite; it offers one of the best views of the Douro River in our opinion! Located on the 5th floor, these suites offer a comfortable living room has panoramic windows and there is also a spacious bathroom with double sink and separate bathtub and shower. Vineyard Suite: Located on the 5th floor, this beautiful light-filled and earth-toned suite has double-take views over Portugal’s celebrated wine region. Enjoy every convenience and raise a toast to life thanks to the wine fridge filled with Douro favourites. These suites have a spacious living room area and enjoy total privacy following the same natural colour scheme and contemporary atmosphere of the hotel.

  • Vineyard Rooftop Suite:

    Located on the top floor of the vineyard wing and overlooking the beautiful Vale Abraao valley, these two suites enjoy total privacy and a very comfortable and contemporary atmosphere. One terrace adjoins the living/dining rooms, and a private wooden bridge connects it to a cosy garden deck with daybed and hot tub, perfect for moments of relaxation and meditation.

  • Quinta Courtyard Suite:

    Our premier accommodations are located on the fourth floor of an exclusive wing and look out over the Douro River and vineyard below. They feature a bedroom, bathroom with separate toilet, gracious living and dining areas and a beautiful balcony overlooking the river.

  • Vineyard Garden Suite:

    Located on the fifth floor of an exclusive wing of the hotel, this suite is ideal if you want to hide away (although you may not resist the lure of our restaurant or spa for long). It includes a separate bedroom, living and dining areas with a generously-sized bathroom on the inside, and a terrace with a hot tub and day bed overlooking the surrounding vineyards on the outside. A wine fridge with a sel~ection of Douro wines is the ultimate luxury for discerning wine lovers.
