Location

Solitaire Lodge is located on Lake Tarawera in the North Island of New Zealand just 16 km from Rotorua. It is a three-hour drive or 30-minute flight from Auckland.

Styled with comfort in mind, all the 9 luxurious suites feature panoramic views of the glassy lake and magnificent volcano through grand picture windows. The subtle design brings the outdoors in, inviting you to unwind and soak up the peace and quiet of this tranquil setting.

    Each Executive suite offers spectacular views overlooking historic Lake Tarawera, lavish king beds, comfortable chairs for lounging, grand picture windows and a private balcony with stunning vista. From the crispest sheets and freshly baked biscuits to the complimentary in room mini-bar, no detail has been overlooked. (Size 33 sq. m).

  • Premium Executive Suite

    The Premium Executive Suite offers spectacular and sweeping views over Lake Tarawera and the mountain, lavish super king beds, comfortable chairs for lounging, picture windows and a private balcony with stunning vista. Freestanding baths overlook the Lake and give you the opportunity to soak in the view. (Size 33 sq. m).

  • Tarawera Suite

    The Tarawera Suite features floor to ceiling glass that embraces an uninterrupted view from the tranquil bay, across the glassy lake and up to the majestic summit of Mount Tarawera. This suite has a split-level design and features a generous bedroom, with lavish super king bed, relaxing sitting area and separate dining room. Private balconies are perfectly positioned to take in one of New Zealand s most spectacular views. (Size 70 sq. m).

  • Villa Suite

    This standalone 1- or 2-bedroom Villa Suite emphasizes space and comfort. The ground floor features a master bedroom with a luxurious super king bed and an ensuite with a freestanding bath that overlooks the lake. The open-plan kitchenette, dining, and living area lead to a private outdoor deck with views of the bay. Ideal for families or groups of friends, the second upstairs bedroom with an ensuite can be configured with either a super king bed or single beds for younger guests to share. (Size: 100 sq. m)

  • Solitaire Suite

    Located in a separate building, the 1- or 2-bedroom Solitaire Suite provides peace, complete privacy, and stunning views through dramatic picture windows overlooking the serene Lake Tarawera. The large master bedroom features a lavish super king bed, nearby lounge access and en-suite bathroom. From the lounge, there is a private sundeck. The second bedroom is smaller but also contains a super-king-sized bed, with a nearby corridor access to the shared bathroom and free-standing bath. (Size 88 sq. m).
