Overview

The First House is a plush colonial Portuguese home that was built in 1986 and renovated by Ayaz Basrai. The villa is a great example of sustainable living by using energy in an environmentally conscious manner. The villa is set amidst the serene paddy fields of Saligao, a prosperous village whose architectural aesthetic reflects the influence of artists who enjoy the laid-back village lifestyle. The beautiful villa has 10 luxurious bedrooms, making it the perfect place to get together with your loved ones and enjoy the Goan ‘susegade’ lifestyle. The villa has lots of natural light and open spaces with a timeless charm, and the cobblestoned courtyard with the water fountain is one of the guests’ favourite spots on the property. 
Location

The First House is located in Saligao, North Goa, around a one hour drive from the Goa airport, and a 30-minute drive from Panjim, the city centre.  

Rooms

The charming 10-bedroom villa has been meticulously renovated by Ayaz Basrai of The Busride Studio and the interiors have a sense of grandeur while retaining the simplicity and warmth of a home to suit the taste of the discerning traveller. The interiors feel timeless, combining an old-world allure with modern amenities. It has high ceilings, tastefully furnished and air-conditioned en suite rooms, with large verandas, abundant natural light, lots of open spaces and gardens adorned with flowers and trees, giving the perfect balance between relaxing Goan-Portuguese culture and contemporary luxury.

  • The Villa

    The Luxurious Villa features modern and elegant interiors along with quality furnishings and offerings. The Villa is inclusive of premium Wi-Fi and offers blue tooth speakers along with a private parking area near the entrance for your cars if required. There is also a vegetable garden that provides fresh ingredients for meals should you choose to dine in. The Villa offers 2 large pools, with an unparallel view of paddy fields, where you can relax on the sun- loungers, enjoy outdoor barbecues under the mango tree or have evening tea in the cabana overlooking the pools. The spacious living room, with a 75inch television, is a favorite spot to spend time together. You could also start the evening at the bar lounge, fixing a drink before heading into the welcoming dining room, which opens out into a covered wraparound porch overlooking the lawns and paddy fields beyond. Located just outside the living room, is one the best spots in the villa – the cobble stoned courtyard with a lovely water fountain, surrounded by lush greenery.
