The Residence Zanzibar is a top end luxurious resort with great service, food and incredibly luxurious villas each with private infinity pools. Inspired by the island’s eclectic cultures, the resort blends modern comforts with Swahili, Omani, British and Indian influences. It is set on 32 hectares of pristine land once occupied by the Shirazi Princes. It lies on a mile-long powdery white sand beach, flanked by coconut palms and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.  Whether you dream of a quiet couple’s retreat or fun in the sun for the whole family, the Residence Zanzibar really is the it place. 
Location

The Residence Zanzibar is located 55 minutes from the airport and the capital Stone Town. Zanzibar is just a 30 minute flight from Dar es Salaam and a 1 hour 40 minute flight from Nairobi. 

Rooms

All the 66 stand-alone villas at The Residence, Zanzibar have been decorated using contemporary furniture reminiscent of the island’s African and Omani heritage. The villas offer the perfect combination of spaciousness and privacy. All the villas have air conditioning, flat screen televisions, huge bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, each with its own infinity pool with sun beds. Each villa has its own appointed butler. Bicycles are provided with each villa to explore the gardens and local area.

  • Luxury Garden Pool Villa

    Set directly on the edge of the ocean, surrounded by tall coconut palm trees, these beautifully appointed 1 bedroom villas (total 34 in number) feature a large living room leading onto a private deck with table and chairs, one day bed, a couple of sun loungers with parasol and a private pool. The bedroom has a central, canopied king-size bed, with French doors leading onto the deck and pool, with views over the gardens. Size: 155 sq. m

  • Luxury Oceanfront Pool Villa

    These luxuriously appointed 1 bedroom villas are just like the luxury garden pool villas, except that they are set directly on the edge of the ocean, surrounded by tall coconut palm trees. The bedroom has a central, canopied king-size bed, with French doors leading onto the deck and pool, with views over the gardens and then the ocean. Size: 155 sq. m

  • Prestige Oceanfront Pool Villa

    These 1 bedroom beautifully appointed villas (total 11 in number) are set on the edge of the ocean featuring separate toilet, double basins, stand-alone bath and separate shower cabin. It leads onto a small secluded private garden with an outdoor shower. They can accommodate up to 3 adults and a child or 2 adults and 2 children. Size 194 sq m.

  • Presidential Pool Villa

    This exclusive 2 bedroom villa is set at the edge of the water and has a large living room, well appointed bedrooms and big white bathrooms that is furnished in colonial style and opens onto a wooden deck and an 11-metre private plunge pool. The bedroom has a central, canopied king-size bed, with French doors leading onto the deck and pool, with breathtaking views of the ocean. The spacious bathroom features separate toilet, double basins, stand-alone bath and separate shower cabin. Size: 468 sq. m.

  • Frangipani Garden Pool Villa

    These 2 bedroom villas are set in lush gardens surrounded by tall coconut palm trees and they offer space for a family or two couples travelling together. They can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children. One bedroom with a king bed and the additional bedroom features either twin or king size beds overlooking the gardens. These beautifully appointed villas feature a large living room leading onto a private deck with table and chairs, one day bed, a couple of sun loungers with a parasol and a private pool. Size: 234 sq. m.

  • Frangipani Oceanfront Pool Villa

    There are 2 such villas and they are identical to the Frangipani Garden Pool villas except that they are set directly on the beach, at the edge of the ocean. There are only 2 such villas and they feature a large living room leading onto a private deck with table and chairs, one day bed, a couple of sun loungers with parasol and a private pool. Size: 234 sq. m..
